A skin care line contacted us about carrying their product and asked a very interesting question “ What do you believe is the Travellers preference, larger product sizes which can be packed and repacked over a number of trips, or “use and lose”, lower cost, small sizes like 4-10 ml tubes which can be disposed of when packing to go home?”
In response to their question “ I would say that in the ideal situation travelers would prefer to use their favorite large size products on their trips; however, the issue that they are faced with at airport security is if the bottle isn’t marked with a net wt claim (they’ve purchased a clear travel sized bottle from the drugstore and filled it with their favorite product) they risk the bottle being taken away by security. Additionally, offering products in smaller sizes allows consumers to test the product before committing to a full size product. Kate and I believe that all beauty products should be offered in a travel size version!”

www.3floz.com is the brainchild of Kate Duff and Alexi Mintz, two former co-workers who bring a combined 11 years of experience in the beauty industry. Kate and Alexi became friends while working together by connecting over their love of travel. They often travelled together for work, but each one very differently. Kate was a “check” girl, while Alexi always carried-on. Alexi always thought Kate checked her bags because at 5’1” she couldn’t reach the overhead bins, while Kate thought Alexi carried-on due to fear of lost luggage. Turns out Kate just wasn’t willing to give up her beauty regime no matter where or how long she was traveling for, while Alexi on the other hand was willing to sacrifice (and was content to borrow Kate’s products)! The problem was, Alexi couldn’t always get Kate to share her products, and Kate was also forced to travel with mild anxiety that her shampoo would explode all over her clothing. Together they spent hours upon hours going from shops to websites wondering why there wasn’t a place to get TSA-friendly versions of their favorite products all at once.
3floz.com was born out of their desires to have their favorite beauty products with them wherever they go without sacrificing convenience. 3floz.com only carries products that founders Kate and Alexi have tried themselves and/or currently use, resulting in a well-curated selection of the finest in the market.
