If you’ve ever seen a photo of me you know my hair is black so this isn’t a photo of me! This is, however, a photo of beach hair done by Serge Normant and I’ve been trying to recreate it! xAlexi
How to get Beach Hair:
Create a middle part, pre dry to keep as much natural wave as possible.
Smooth out the top layer and unnecessary frizz.
Use a little Meta Form Sculpting Pomade giving some texture before using a one inch curling iron or smaller if you want a tighter wave, and start randomly giving a natural looking wave. Leave the ends straighter to give a more natural touch.
I’m short. The bigger the hair, the taller I am (this is not a photo of me, while I’d like my hair to be that big I’ve only been able to achieve about 1/2 that size. Might be time to have Serge style it himself - hint hint). -xoKate
How to get BIG HAIR:
Blow dry with a round brush (middle size) giving as much lift to the roots as possible.
Use a one inch barrel curling iron, curl section by section.
We obsess over travel-size products, so naturally we were fast friends with the founders of 3Floz.com, a online resource that carries luxury products exclusively in TSA-approved sizes. We sat down with one of the co-founders, Kate Duff, to chat about her booming business as well as her best jet-setting secrets.
Kate Duff: The idea for 3FLoz.com came to Alexi Mintz, my co-founder, and I when we were working at Archipelago Botanicals in Los Angeles and traveling a lot. After a few business trips together, we quickly realized that we had very different traveling styles. Alexi would forgo her beauty regimen while she was traveling and show up with a small carry-on while I, on the other hand, would travel with two huge suitcases so I could look my best while on the road. We soon realized that there was no easy way to get all the beauty products we use regularly in convenient travel-sizes. The idea for 3Floz.com was born.
There are two red carpets that we watch every year with bated breath: the Oscars and, of course, the Met Ball. All the stars come out for these fashion-forward events, and we couldn’t take our eyes off of all the gorgeous looks that strutted down Fifth Avenue last night. Here are a few of our editors’ favorite, unforgettable styles from the evening:
I had a hard time picking a favorite, but I don’t think anyone was as stunning as Camilla Belle (although Diane Kruger did look pretty superb). I absolutely adored Belle’s curve-hugging beaded gown, which struck the exact right balance between sexy and glamorous. What’s more, her hair and makeup were the perfect compliment to her dazzling dress. And kudos to the star for choosing such a daring, deep red pucker. Usually, that wine-stained shade is reserved for the winter, but I think the actress is on to Hollywood’s hottest new trend for the summer. —Meredith
Spring is in bloom and so are our allergies! While we love the blooms and fresh flowers we don’t love the sneezing, itchy eyes and runny nose. We’ve combined two of our favorite products to make the perfect remedy for Allergy relief!
Help Remedies: Help I have allergies - Literally, works in under 15 minutes. If you don’t believe us check out this review from a customer of ours: “I was low on cash and needed allergy relief, this was on display for only $4.50 and I grabbed it. After taking it, I went online to read reviews since I had never heard of it before. There were no reviews and I was terrified, however after only 15 minutes, my itchy watery eyes and runny nose, completely subsided. So here I am to let you know that even though there are not many reviews (none that I could find, actually) this product worked fabulous for me!” Want to read all the drug facts about it? 21 Drops: #15 Decongest - We’ve historically recommended this for long plane rides or when you are feeling a little stuffy but we’ve started to use this daily to help fight our allergies and it works! It relieves congestion with essential oils, including eucalyptus leaf oil and black pepper dried fruit oil, to help you breathe easy. Dried pepper in particular, has anti-histaminic and anti-allergenic properties and is also energizing when allergies get you down.
In case we didn’t know before we now know after yesterdays blog that germs are everywhere, they can be a good thing and our bodies have 3 main lines of defense to keep us healthy. What can we do to help to stay happy and healthy you ask… Well here are a few tips:
Keep skin moisturized and clean | I never would have thought of this but it makes sense… Keeping your skin moisturized avoids cracks which make it easy for bacteria and virus to get in our bodies.
Find Joy | Studies show that happiness maximizes a bodies serotonin which keep all your neuro-transmitters moving and blood pumping to keep the intruders out.
Maintain a Healthy Weigh | Excess flab triggers low-grade inflammation which increase the odds for immune disorders, type 2 diabetes, cancers, and other chronic diseases. One more reason to hit the gym right!
Keep it Moving | Now I am sure you were thinking this was referring to exercise but I was thinking of keeping things moving in your body. Protecting our digestive tracks is SUPER DUPER important for preventing illness.
So are we ready to fight intruding germs, intruders, and illness?
