Had SUCH a fun night last night (see pics) at the She Knows Experts event at Astor Place with some of my besties!! The venue was amazing, the crowd was super fun and there were all these cool stations. Make your own risotto, and whoppie pies, mixology lessons, flower arranging…those She Knows peeps really know how to throw a great party!! The event was the launch the She Knows Experts Among Us Program, which I am excited to announce I was chosen for, I even got a plaque from Tiffany to prove it.
Make sure to watch out for me on the She Knows Experts page.
Miami for a long weekend? Sure, why not.
Stay: Viceroy. The Pool alone is worth the stay. Largest pool and hot tub in Miami. Beware: Saturday they have a DJ by the pool, it was 50/50 on his playlist. Assume they change up their DJ’s.
Spa: Viceroy. Walking 50 feet from the pool to the spa isn’t so bad. Beautiful two level spa. It had just re-opened when I went- assumed they may had renovated it. After a 90 minute massage I spent the better part of an hour drinking chilled lemon water in the indoor hot tub. They have two hot tubs and a cold plunge. Worth the splurge.
Eat: Zuma in The Epic Hotel. Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had. Living in NYC where there are so many great restaurants, you know checking out Zuma is worth it. Cannot wait for them to open a NYC location.
Eat: Mandolin Aegean Bistro. This spot was recommended by multiple people, all foodies, so my expectations were fairly high. While the ambiance and outdoor seating was beautiful, the food was fine. Not bad, not great. Just fine. I wonder if I maybe ordered the wrong dishes or the kitchen was having an off night.
Overall, great trip- I would do it all over again.
I seem to always be traveling- not just by plane, but even while home in NYC, I’m always on the go. Most of the time that means eating on the go. One product I have used for a long time and will never stop using is David Kirsch “Kirsch Bars”. Not only do they taste good, but they are made with 7 grams of appetite-satisfying casein and egg white protein and are only 100 calories! Did I mention that they are also gluten free? Dreamy. If you have been searching for a snack bar that is extra satisfying, try one by ordering the David Kirsch Flight Pack-, which is perfect for someone on the go.
Here are are mine… what are yours? XO Kate
Always glad to be back in New York…. but my weekend trip to Miami was pretty fantastic. You can’t beat clear blue skies and 90 degree weather. There are several things I find necessary to do upon returning to reality.
Maintaining a tan. My choice is Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Glow Moisture for face-which locks in moisture and gives my skin a slight glow and tint. A few other after-travel problems to solve are tired eyes and getting my body back on track. Klorane Eye Patches reduce eye puffiness, and David Kirsch Vitamins & Thermo Bubbles regulate my appetite and replenish my immune system.
As we all know, fashion is key, especially while traveling. Not only is it important to look your best, but to be comfortable. While in flight, my favorite piece of clothing as of recently is the J Crew Merino Leather-Pocket Sweater in black. It is warm and comfy, and has 2 large pockets on the front- perfect for a cell phone and boarding pass. Most importantly it is super cute and keeps its shape while sitting for hours- unlike so many other clothes! This top is PERFECT with jeans, trendy sweat pants, or leggings.
After a busy and tiring week/weekend Alexi and I swear by these easy to use Klorane USA Eye Patches. They refresh, moisturize, and brighten your eye area while reducing puffiness. Do you have a busy week ahead? Make sure you have these on hand. http://bit.ly/1akX6YM
My favorite purchase of the month: Jawbone Mini Jambox in Orange. This tiny blue tooth speaker is unbelievably powerful and has the best sound. It is perfect for travel and fits right in your purse or bag. It charges like a cell phone, no batteries needed. Definitely worth purchasing, and built to last a long time! http://bit.ly/GZsG6q
When I travel, my phone is one of my most important accessories. I have several apps that I rely on for different needs when I am traveling domestically or internationally. Here is my hot list:
Spotify [FREE] is my first any only option to listen to the latest hits, and some oldies too.
Hotel Tonight [FREE] is great for finding last minute deals on hotels.
FoundersCard [FREE] is my go-to for discounts as I travel, and is membership based.
GateGuru [FREE] is what I use to check my flight itineraries, view security wait times, see airport restaurants, and view reviews from other passengers.
Google Translate [FREE] is a must for International travel.
Uber [FREE] is one of my most used apps period, even at home in NYC. I always have fast and reliable service, and there is no exchange of cash because Uber requires you to set up your bank account to their service.
Exit Strategy NYC [$3.99] is a New York City based app that is super helpful for riding the subway. It tells you exactly which car to ride in in order to exit the station at the right corner for your destination.
Evernote [FREE] helps keep me organized wherever I am. It allows you to share files with others and organize things you find on the web or paper documents by scanning them at home/work.
I am always trying my best to find convenient ways to choose a healthy lifestyle- that heavily includes what I eat. Although I’m not really into juice cleanses, a green juice can be an easy way to make sure you get all your greens everyday, and it can be a great option for a meal replacement. I found this dreamy new juicer called Magic Mix Juicery in my neighborhood. MMJ is based on the concept that being healthy shouldn’t have to mean depriving yourself. They always use fresh, organic ingredients to create nutritious plant-based foods and juices that are made from scratch in-house daily. They believe that no one solution fits all so they encourage you to make bio-individual choices that fit your lifestyle, and needs. Sound complicated? It’s not! Go by and try one for yourself, I have been drinking the Green Radiance daily and I am OBSESSED!!
